When done, I installed Realtek AC'97, and it failed.
If such lac655 defect is found, return the media to Intel for replacement or alternate delivery of the Software as Intel may select. Intel is not obligated under any other agreements unless they are in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Intel.

Realtek driver for ALC655 and Windows XP 32bit
Luckily I have my firewall configured to notify me of any 'breakout' attempts. I then went directly to the Asus site and downloaded the driver directly, installed, worked fine.
